An amiable handshake, combined with a smart suit and a twinkle of the eye seem somehow at odds with the nickname ‘Rhino’, yet in Chris Connor’s case, it’s a natural marriage! A real estate professional of more than 25 years, Chris has charged his way through the years with buoyant optimism and a commitment to professionalism that’s stood him in good stead.

An early career as a hotel manager set Chris on a customer service path which he’s pursued with gusto. Undeniably a people person, Chris values ‘meeting people and being able to help them’ above all else, making him the perfect fit for the property business. Having decided he preferred being the boss to taking orders from one (after all, rhinos are leaders rather than followers), his determination and head for business led to the establishment of his own successful real estate company in Mt Maunganui. A couple of decades and plenty of sales later, Chris and wife Vivienne opted for a move south.

When questioned on the motivation for moving from the sunny north, the answer is quick in coming ‘Rivers, mountains, lakes and streams – look at it, how could you not want to move here?’. Our sentiments exactly, Chris, hence the excellent decision to join the team at hoamz, also known for their love of everything Queenstown has to offer.
