A life on the ocean wave can take many forms, and for Alasdair Roy it’s been a diverse one. From days spent on oil rigs towering above the perilous North Sea to the frozen ice shelves over the Antarctic and right up to the present day’s sailing trips around the Pacific – adventures on the high seas have certainly prepared this true blue kiwi for the rollercoaster world of real estate.

A South Islander born and bred, Alasdair’s work-hard, play-hard philosophy makes him a perfect fit for the outdoor-loving hoamz team. When he’s not busily selling Queenstown real estate, Al spends his weekends boating, climbing and tramping; a life-long love affair with Fiordland has stood him in good stead as a regular competitor in multi-sport events including the famed Coast-to-coast and Southern Traverse.

Going the extra mile has never been a problem for Al – or Alroy as he’s more widely known. Those extra miles have even taken him as far as the south pole – twice! A very rare feat for a Kiwi, making him one of just a handful of people to have done so.  Despite a few chilly seasons spent on the ice, his warm personality and love of working with people has meant 15 years of real estate success.

When asked why hoamz (Southern Lakes Real Estate at the time) was the first port of call for him, the answer was simple – ‘a high profile company with proven results and a great team, many of whom I already knew and liked’. 

So that’s an adventure-loving nature, hard-working outlook, a seriously motivated attitude, a fan of the outdoors, a wealth of real estate knowledge and exemplary people skills. To unashamedly coin a real estate cliché, Alroy ticks all the boxes.
